Timothy Zahn is the author of eight Star Wars novels and dozens of fantasy and science fiction novels. His ninth Star Wars novel, called Choices of One , is slated for release in 2011.
Zahn's first Star Wars novel, Heir to the Empire (1991), helped revitalize interest in Star Wars and ushered in a new era of Star Wars fiction. The novel introduced readers to popular expanded universe characters, including: Mara Jade, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Talon Kardde and Gilad Pellaeon.
